What a shame you cannot swap the engine for something better. Here you would have to get it approved by an engineer. It is therefore possible.

My defender puma 110 is in mechanic getting lof clutch kit as I speek and there is one thing I must ask with your clutch kit did lof supply bolts with your kit as well did you replace flywheel bolts as well some I didn't think came with the replacement. Love your video it has helped me with many idea's for my rig as I travel around my vast Australian country looking for destinations.

I’ve just ordered a new diff from Nigel at Xcess 4x4. It will be nice to have a strong diff I can rely on and hopefully no more whining 😊

I notice that the "temporary" crown wheel bolts you put in are incorrect! They are set screws, threaded to the head, they should be threaded only where they screw into the carrier, having threads right to the head causes a serious weakness, a technicality now as I think you have replaced the diff unit, but worth pointing out. EXCELLENT!! In 1995 I quit my safe successful life at drove all over the northern hemisphere in a 1976 landrover 90 soft top. I hated quitting my dream job. I planed to go for a year but 30 years later and I am still going strong. It was a much different world back then. No GPS, no internet. I travelled with a lot of people, some people go insane quickly whilst some peopled the most amazing things that really surprise themselves. Every journey is unique. Take your time and take it all in.

Add the 12volt stick on heater blankets that turn on automatically when temperature gets below 52 degrees I also set it up on a switch so I could override the sensor if I want to hope this help’s I got them on Amazon

It's pulling engine, not as much as a long distance engine, but it can do long distances...1st and 2nd gears are extremely short, 3rd is barely longer...to change the engine, try homologating it in another country and re-import it - if CH allows these types of vehicles

It's amazing, the same switches used since 1985 but with a different connectors, I have a Ninety from 1986 and replaced headlight switch and horn and hi beam lever also. Same colors as yours but the conector in the 90 is a old style rubber type.

There's one more thing that would top it of a set as touring seats I had originally defender seat swapped over for touring seat never looked back

Why did they put the engine so far back ? That means the bell housing bolts are almost impossible to reach. Looks like the engineers left the building.

Thanks for sharing, man! And I feel you on the suffering part, lol. Water and cold air don't mix well at all. I never really thought about getting a shower ensuite until one day my wife and I went to the beach with our 6-month-old, and all the changing rooms were closed. That also meant she couldn't pump in private for our little one. So after doing a lot of research, I bought an ensuite to make things easier for my wife and to have a changing room. It's been perfect for us. Unfortunately, I didn't have to drill any holes in my Wrangler, but I totally get why your husband was feeling the pain when he had to. I also have twin tanks in the same place and if definitely will help stability as it’s very low down so lowers centre of gravity.

Hi this is very interesting. We have a 2.4 TDCi too and are planning an overland conversion over the next few years. Could you please add details about the actual parts used and the connections ? @thebluelandy used just the coolant system in their TD5 without using a preheater, using the engine block’s residual heat through a heat exchanger, which I think is a good idea too if you don’t need a preheater. I’d like to understand how the switching between preheating and water heating works Another great video 👍

To distinguish any possible oil leak coming out of the GB or the transfer case you can add Fluorescent Leak Detector Dye For all ENGINE OIL TRANSMISSION POWER STEERING FUEL SYSTEM *UV DYE* It works with the UV light so add to one of the parts and to find out use the UV light to see any possible leak If is not shiny fluorescent is the other part If is shiny is obviously where is coming out from Nice parts excellent choice 🍻👊🏽 Sorry to hear about the bad experiences as well

Il faudra certainement leur faire un appel téléphonique. Nous revenons (ma conjointe et moi) tout juste d'une balade de 5 mois au USA. Il nous reste seulement que l'Oregon, Hawaii et l'Alaska à visiter. Nous avons déjà parcouru à moto dans un périple de 6 mois un aller-retour de Montréal à Bueno Aires Argentine. In Australia I used a Toyo Open Country MT and on rough dirt roads I had to use minute glue every evening to repair numerous half chipped off spots on all of the tires .. Now I have Maxxis Razr AT, a hybrid between AT and MT being very content with them.

Hallo. Very nice to see a Defender offroad in Europe. That leads to my question. In european winter I stay in Western Australia, the 4wd heaven, but in countries of the EU, even driving on forestal roads is forbiddeen. In Belgium You get for example a fine of 1200€ and they can seize Your car. So, question: what is allowed or possible in Switzerland? A positive answer would be the best.

Great informative video. No doubt about it High lift jacks are very useful in certain scenarios. But i have a winch, bottle jack and pieces of wood. It works.
